Engine swap advice m52 auto

My car is a 1.8 auto and I have my eye on a m52 2.8 engine with an auto box included, will the gearbox fit my car or can I use my current gearbox, what else would I need from the doner car to make it all work

It's not something you can do unless you're really competent. Search for threads in R3VLimited - one of the forum members have done it but you'll end up having to use E36 gear shifter which looks totally out of place in an E30 IMO. I'm sure you can still keep the E30 shifter if you wanted to but again will require custom gearbox ECU and electrical knowledge etc.
