What's this wire please

Can anybody tell me what this wire is and where it should be connected, I have also pointed out where it goes to but I can see to be able to see what it is

Looks like the cylinder identification wire sensor which should be connected to plug lead no.4 but has been left disconnected there.

Closest to you the driver , No 1 is closest to the radiator. No4 plug lead is the 2nd lead down attached to the distributor cap as you look and it is there that the impulse sensor attaches to the plug lead.
