My 323i has been running well apart from a recent occasional problem. Sometimes when I decelerate the engine just dies. Normally it drops down to a stable idle as I stop, but twice in the past two weeks it has just died. If I leave it for a few minutes it will restart. Any ideas what might be happening?

Vacuum leak is also likely. When you start the car is the small 'pusher' on the throttle body working? That is also what helps control the idle on jetronic. it catches the thottle as it hits the bottom stop and gives it a push when needed.
Vacuum also controls the advance on the distributer which can cause problems.
