Hi all,

I’m currently replacing all the fuel and brake lines underneath my car and I’ve ran into a issue with the small internally threaded studs that the brackets slip onto. On every single one the Philips head snapped off due to corrosion and I’m unable to remove the rest of the screw resulting in me not being unable to attached the lines back to the chassis as they were before.

Has anyone else had this issue and has a way to solve this? I’ve only come across one post saying to grind them off and use rivets but there was no follow up with how it went.

Thanks

I recently had this replacing mine but luckily only one snapped off, I managed to grind the end flat then drill it out first with a 1mm drill then a 2mm drill and 2.5mm drill then tapped it out for the closest size screw I could find to replace it.

If it had failed I would have snapped it off and drilled the floor to pass a suitable size bolt through and bolt it up.
