well i'm back again with a different issue this time.
this time it's to do with the fuel gauge,
over the past few days i've been testing the brakes to ensure they are working (& leak free) & each time i've turned the ignition on the dash has been working perfectly,
but, this morning when i turned it on the fuel gauge went straight to full,
yet the past few days it has been showing as having just over a quarter of a tank.
anyone know what could've caused it to start showing full??
i've not touched any wiring behind the dash or at the fuel pump,
the only time i've been either behind the dash or near the pump was a couple of years ago when i replaced the SI board (new board & batteries) as the batteries had started to leak & when i changed the worn out old pump for a walbro 255 when the rebuilt engine went in.
makes no sense at all.
so, anyone got any ideas?

If the guage has gone to full and no fuel fairies have filled your tank then there is a short circuit in the wire that goes to your sender unit, check under the rear seat
