318i M40 coolant bleeding help

Hi guys,

Having some issues getting my 318i to bleed. I've tried following the guide on the m40 servicing bit on here but not having much luck this time. Anyone got any top tips?

My drive is on a slope I've got front end raised.
I get it hot so there's heat in the top hose.
I can get heat in to the cabin too, but it will blow hot but then a bit later, it will blow cold.
I've been squeezing all the hoses I can.

Do I need to do anything with the screw on the thermostat housing? So far I've only been using the bleed screw on the rad.

I seem to have had some successs.

A combination of driving it a bit to get coolant properly flowing around and build a bit of pressure, and then stopping to release to bleed valve on top of the radiator for a bit.

Did that about 3 times last night and coolant temps stayed pretty steady just below half way whilst driving, and I was getting good heat in the cabin so it must have pushed the airlock out of the cabin heater.

When I stop, and feel the radiator through, the top 2 inches of the rad still doesn't get hot, so theres still a good bit of air in there. I guess its just a matter of keep repeating the above until its all out!
