Good morning everyone,
I’m in the process of preparing for a full engine rebuild. I’m ready to remove the pistons before sending the block to the workshop for a once over. Does anyone know what head type is on the bolts that hold the conn rod cap in place? I thought it was an E torx head but there’s a lot of splines (if that’s even the correct terminology). I’d be worried if I used a standard e torx socket that it might strip either the socket or worse, the bolt head.

Any advice?

Thanks,
Joe

It's a standard 12 point that you find on the back of a spanner

Thanks. How the f@*k did I miss that one? I was searching everywhere looking an answer to that. I assume I can just buy a 12 point 10mm socket then…

Cheers,
Joe
