Anyone got a circuit diagram of the SI board for a facelift E30? The initial problem I had was that the inspection and middle light (the clock or the oii?) stayed on all the time even once I'd reset the LEDs. So I pulled the instruments out, separated the SI board. This is what I found:
Batteries looked physically fine, a pair of Sanyo lithiums showing 2.9v apiece.
Middle 'grain of wheat' lamp burnt out for the 'oil' warning.
A small resistor melted on the PCB and showing no continuity at all. Could have been a capacitor, hard to say but it had two legs!
I put it all back together and refitted. The car works fine still, the middle lamp has gone out so now it's just the inspection one is lit. Green LEDs still working exactly as expected. A few questions that I hope someone knows the answer to then?
1. I'm assuming 2.9v is fine for the time being. Is it possible that this is the cause of the lit inspection light?
2. I'd like to replace the burnt out bulb, I don't like to leave them, but of course it's not an off the shelf part. What's the spec of the bulb? The others either side are 32 ohms.
3. Is there a diagram that shows what each component is on the SI PCB, so I could just replace that melted resistor, rather than have to buy an instrument cluster just to cannibalise one or two components?
Thanks in advance.
