Power steering rack

Hi all,
Could someone possibly measure the length of an e30 power steering rack for me, just the main section, not including the arms.

Also whats the difference between e36 and an e30 rack, dimensions wise.

The racks work in opposite directions between E21/E30, so if you fit an E30 rack to an E21 when you turn the steering wheel to the right the wheels will turn to the left, you would have to redesign the suspension/hubs for it to work
