Hi , I have just got a 325i and in the glove box there are 2 torches I know where the white one fits but where does the black one go? It’s longer than the white one and had two pins in the base.

Hey. looking at the part number it doesn't look like it is for E30, the results return E38 and E39.

Correct..the white one is the original...the batteries are probably dead....they are trickle charged constantly through a resistor inside the torch body...very crude indeed.
There are a few refurbished LED converted ones floating around...not sure if still available.
Making some kind of jig to fit the newer black torch might be possible but it's taller and may not fit in the glovebox.
