Rear light lens split ?

How possible is it to split the lens itself from the mounting body ?
Water has got in and ruined two of the reflectors (seals over a loooooong period of time ) (ordered new today £30.62 for two ,Cotswolds !! ) :cry:
Is this worth doing as the cost of new/good lamps are stupid ?
Do I just buy some very good LED`s instead ?
