My current Varta Black is date stamped 09/13 and isn't enjoying the cold weather, so I'm looking at options for a good quality replacement 325 battery.
Wiki says go for an 096 rated battery. Any recommendations?

There was a thread about this not so long ago, im sure Varta was the top recommended battery which is what I use on my cars, have had several bosch batteries fail prematurely usually a few weeks outside the warranty period

I am confused these days by how they test batteries and what the criteria is. I charge a battery up, leave it for 3 to 4 hours do a drop test and it fails. Take it to the shop and they tell me it needs charged. Repeat above and they tell me it’s got over 12v so ok. They seem to have stopped the drop test and use a machine, must be supplied by the battery manufacturers where only the green light works.
