My 320 convertible has a single exit exhaust and i'd rather have the dual exit... My car is a 1988 320 chromie convertible, with no cat, but looks like a three piece exhaust.
Checking under the car today and it seems that two pipes come down from the manifold, then the two pipes hit a Y shape bracket making it a single pipe entry into the middle box which in turn has a single pipe exit. Then this single pipe goes into and out of the backbox... does that sound right? On RealOem, none of the diagrams for my car show this Y shaped bracket and just show two pipes going into the mid section and one coming out... is this another bodge I am uncovering or is this right?
Anyway, can i fit any 6-cylinder exhaust to the car? Or is it convertible specific?
Thanks in advance of your help!
Potential exhaust question?

The ETK (RealOEM, etc.) diagrams are not assembly diagrams and don't necessarily look anything like the parts they represent. You can fit the later exhaust with no problems, except that if there is a cut out in the rear valence, it is larger for two pipes than for one pipe.
Saloon, convertible and touring exhausts are all interchangeable.
