Hi
I have a problem with the fuel gauge. The needle flickers when I push wire in the back.
I've removed the dash cluster and the white connector and resoldered the pin connections on the cluster. I've also checked the fuel gauge and I get a resistance reading between 0 and 60 ohms depending upon full and empty tank which looks ok.
I've also cleaned the brass nut at the back. Can't figure out the problem.
Any ideas appreciated.

If the needle reacts to pressure on the back of the cluster, then there's still a crack or poor connection there somewhere.
The buckets in the white plug can be damaged if someone has pushed an oversize meter probe into them at some time. Have you checked the tension and the soldering of the two clips that the pins of the fuel gauge push into? Check pin 6 of the white connector, where the ignition switched feed for the fuel gauge comes in.
Check the soldering of the resistor in the gauge's negative connection.
