I'm trying to fit a rear anti-roll bar to my 320i but i'm thwarted at each effort. No matter what approach I try I just can't seem to get it around the components. Do I really have to remove the diff/fuel feed/exhaust to mount it? Or is it just much easier if I put it on a lift rather than spending ages on my back continually getting dust in my eyes?[/b]

I did it just by dropping one of the trailing arms off off the damper. Heard it can be done without though.

Had to put the droplinks on afterwards I think but I'd bought new ones anyway. They were the toughest bit come to think of it.

Keep trying.. and invest in some goggles :)

Welcome to the Zone mate

Get your car on the axle stand's, jack the diff so it's supported and unbolt the diff. Lower the jack and there's load's of room, may need to drop the exhaust but that's just a matter of undoing the bracket's. It's just a bit fiddly and make sure you get it the right way round :D

Are you sure the trailing arm's have the bracket to bolt the link arm's to?
If they have then the ARB is normally already there.

FYI you can fit the rear ARB without removing anything, its just possible to slide it in from the drivers side, between the fuel filler neck and the body, ony thing I removed was the VSS plug from the diff.

do it with no drop links as Hoshy indicated and all should be well dude,

have fun !

Pardon my ignorance, Does this rear anti roll bar has any real effect in the driving? Can some one please elaborate the benifits ?

Thanks

ps: Some one is trying to sell me one, I am reluctant to buy not sure how important it is.

massive difference in handling, get a rear bar off a sport/318iS if u can.

if u only have a front bar, the rear will get rid of some understeer, plus the car will corner flatter at speed.

If u don't drive quick u probably wouldn't notice any gain really
