Hello folks, sorry if this is in the wrong place and sorry for an upcoming ignorance. I'm fairly new to this all.
There is a guy about 4 hours away selling a 1992 325i M-Tech II 5 speed convertible. I've requested the VIN number and ran it on Carfax and a few different VIN lookup websites. The VIN is turning up as a 325ic automatic. I believe the "c" relates to convertible so that doesn't bother me so much. The original automatic gearbox, that must've been replaced at some point, is what is throwing me for a loop.
Were there any 1992 325i M-Tech II produced as automatics? Are their any indicators as to what a true M-Tech II would be? I've done some research but any general info you could provide would be greatly appreciated.
Help confirming the true identity of this E30

M-Tech 2 is a style of bodykit not car as such, the car model will be a 325i convertible, the "M-Tech 2" has been added to glam up the for sale advert
Sport models had the kit as standard but the box could be ticked on pretty much any model of E30 if you were happy to pay the price back in the day
Sport model cars could be bought as both manual or automatic same as other models, the automatic was an expensive box to tick
