Hi guys
There are two sort of metal cable clips holding the CPS lead against the engine block and I can't see how to release them - has anyone got a knack for this? I could just brute force them off but I'd rather not. It's a 1988 M20B20 with just the one CPS to the front of the car.
Thanks,
Rich
Help with CPS fastenings, please

I mean the metal clips that hold it in place where it runs along the underside of the engine block. On the picture I mean where it heads off to the left and goes out of shot.Cloggy Saint wrote: ↑Mon Mar 22, 2021 5:21 pmDo you mean where it runs behind the lower timing belt cover?

My bad, am getting things mixed up. I need to check the routing of the CPS cable in the morning.tha881 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 22, 2021 6:54 pmThat's not the cps, most likely oil pressure switch wiring. The cps runs into a plastic cover fitted to the timing belt cover as cloggy said. It is a real pain to install. If the cable is long enough you can run it over the top near the distributor cap until you do a cambelt.
