Hi everyone. I took out the radio that's in my E30 this afternoon in preparation of putting in the Continental tr7412ub-or I've purchased. I had a suspicion that the head unit was not original, it's a Blaupunkt Turin M11 and after removal I'm pretty certain it's not. I've been getting myself royally confused reading what coloured wires need to go where, I'm pretty sure someone has previously changed all the wiring so that's adding complications.

I've attached a photo that I've annotated with what I believe are the correct wires. I am a little stumped as to what the White connector is and why the illumination wire and constant 12V+ is going to it. Also there seems to be a ground that is connected to this and that leads towards the left speaker, I first assumed this to a ground for the speaker in some way but there isn't one for the right side speaker so I'm doubtful. The M11 unit simply had switched 12v+ (purple) and the ground (brown), Antenna power switch (red), Speakers and Antenna signal. the white connector was not plugged in.

Can anyone here tell me if my annotations are correct?

Also if it makes any difference the car is a 325i coupe, front speakers only, no fader.

Cheers!

Update:

Sorry I've figured it out. That brown cable I've labelled earth is not an earth, its a power line tapped into the constant 12v. I had a TOAD alarm installed when I bought the car, I believe this provides power to part of the system.

I've checked the rest with my multimeter
