I want to check the fuel pressure on the m3 (s50) Reason is long crank after engine is switched off. If left for more than a few hours it starts instantly because the fuel pump primes. No schrader on fuel rail so is it acceptable to connect a T piece at the pump outlet or filter outlet to see if it holding pressure. Just don’t like the idea that an injector is always leaking petrol into a cylinder. Thanks

Yes, the cheap ebay kits come with just such a tee piece. The normal place to connect it is just before the fuel rail, but it'll still work if you connect where you say.
If you do connect at the rail, you can check for injector leakage by clamping in and out fuel hoses, check for leakage in the pump's non return valve and leakage in the supply line by clamping just in front of the tee piece, and you can check for FPR leakage by clamping the hose where it leaves the FPR.

Are you giving me a slap on the wrist Brian "cheap ebay kits" Thanks for the info it is difficult/impossible with my setup to do it at the FPR because of lack of space and having those snap on connections. So I’ll do it at the pump. As the kit didn’t come with a schrader connection as advertised then it’s probably going to get returned.

Once again, I've failed t read the OP thoroughly, reading what /i think I should see, rather than what is actually written! I now see that this M3 has an S50, not a S14, as I assumed.
Surely the S50 fuel rail has a fuel pressure test point?

No I’m afraid it hasn’t. As I have a schrader valve on the x5 and b3 I don’t want to keep the kit unless they provide one.
