Hi,

A few days ago I tried swapping my K5 and K7 relays to see if that would maybe solve an eletrical issue with my airconditioning (to no avail). I didn't swap them back because I thought that would mean both the relays should be working (my windows worked as well). The same day my windows worked fine, but the day after I noticed they simply got no power (the buttons didn't light up either). I checked fuse 17 and swapped back the relays, but it made no difference. I had no time to do more research, so I left it as is. Next day, windows started working again just as normal. And today (three days after it started) they didn't work again. Also important to note is that my electrical sliding roof still works fine - even when the windows don't work.

Any advice on where I can look next?

Side note: electrical mirrors also still work!

Only when I come across the thread!
There is a green/blue wire that comes from a blue relay behind the LH side of the glovebox, which goes to the sunroof. This wire has a short flying lead coming off of it, which plugs into the wire which feeds the windows.
If this plug and socket are not making contact, the roof will work but the windows won't, but a far more likely source of the problem is the connectors that plug onto the window overload 'switch'. They are under specified for the size of the wire connected to them, and can just fall off.

Brian swoops in and saves the day, right when I was about to order new relays!

Problem solved, the plugs on the circuit breaker for the windows came loose. I'll be reenforcing them this weekend! Thanks a lot πŸ˜„
