Hi. I think one or two parts of the gear broke from my automatic antenna. Here's a video, make sure to listen to the sound.
Do I need to get a whole new motor or can I change the gear?
P.S. it stops making noise like 5 seconds after the antenna reached the top

Any advice on the matter? A whole new automatic antenna will set me back quite a bit I'm afraid, I'd prefer to fix the gears. Hoping someone has experience with this.

What make of aerial is it?
You can try to take it apart and clean it, too many people 'lubricate it' with all sorts of stuff that just bungs it up
If it is a Hirschmann you might have some luck getting some second-hand parts but the only new part I know that might be available is a replacement rod itself. If it is some other make I would not bother. Just get yourself an Auta 2050 and be done with it

This is actually a great tip, thanks a lot. I'll go search for an Auta 2050, thanks!

I have bought a generic antenna replacement from Amazon for $50. Mine worked great, but I don't know how long it will last because I sold the car.
