Is there any issues changing the timing belt with the engine out on an m20?

Nice simple job with the engine out, bit of a pain with it in.

Only thing remotely difficult about changing a M20 cambelt in an E30 is reaching around the front hinged bonnet. You clearly haven't had much dealings with changing cambelts on other makes of car!

Yes Brian, but there's no denying it's much simpler with the engine out. And no, I've never changed a cam belt on any other car.

not really that hard, just take the grilles & fan/rad out to give yourself some extra room.

try doing one on a subaru,

I find it easier to remove the bonnet........then very easy access.
