Hello guys, im desperate for help on this subject, ive tried everything and this problem wont go away. When i start my car from cold, it idles ok at about 850rpm with no surging! The problem is that while im driving and revs get higher than 2000rpms, if i put it in neutral and watch the revs drop, it goes down to 500rpms and wants to stall, it then flicks upto 850rpms and stays there??? only a few times has it stalled on me!!.. ive changed idle control valve, ecu, air flow meter and the blue sensor but no joy.. it runs perfect when temp gauge is outta the blue, the cars been on scanners and rolling road to check fuelling etc, but no faults appear!!! The tps also clicks..CAN ANYONE HELP PLS?????

why? starts with the first turn and idles happily at 800revs but then when i press the gas pedal to get ready to go the revs jump and drop (surge up and down)

no problems at all when engine warm

hiya, i have a similar prob when the engines warm aswell as cold, the revs surge or stall would that still be possible idle control valve? its a 325ise, some others have said it might be airflow meter or fuel pump related?

cheers

that does sound like idle control valve, although i wouldnt rule out the fuel pump as ive been told its common that these go occasionally on the e30's.. best to do a fuel pressure check and make sure ur fuel is flowing at 3.0bars at all time

I have had some idle woes, and I had to replace the blue sensor and the TPS. The Idle is now perfectly steady, hot or cold.

However, when cold somethimes the engine stalls when I am changing into 2nd for the first time. Othwerside, the engine runs perfectly. I can't find any air leaks.

Stuart.
