Tyre choice for 14” BBS

Hello all,
I have a standard low mileage 318 convertible, I’d like to keep the standard basket weave wheels on, but my tyre choice is limited for 195/65/14.
What tyres have you fitted? Has anyone gone down to 185/70/14 (or do they just look too skinny?)
I realise buying 15” or even 16” wheels would give me more options, but my intention is to keep it all as intended.
