LSD centre in a small case diff?

Quick question here and asking for a future purchase..

Is it at all possible to put an LSD centre inside of a small case diff? I only ask because I currently have a 4.10 ratio SC diff in my 320 and I really like how it drives, I feel it suits the car perfectly and I don't want to go to a longer final drive.

OR vice a versa is it possible to put a 4.10 ratio ring and pinion onto a medium case LSD??? My guess is that the small and medium cases have different sized pinion wheels?

It is because my 323i has one and I think they were and option in the 318is. A 318is LSD was 4.10

Medium case diffs in 4.1 and LSD are out there but I would expect them to cost more than the small case version, although if you are going to pay someone to rebuild your diff it would probably cost more than buying a medium case lsd ready to go

My 323 came with a factory small case LSD with a ratio of 3.25. These will be very rare I would think by now.
