Bought an E30 cab (191k miles) recently and of course there are dozens of minor issues. One of them being that the soft top doesn’t sit flush on the sides of the rear quarter panels. Does any one know to adjust the roof? Or is this how it was from factory? Not too worried but it seems to create more wind noise and draughts when the roof is up.

Thanks.

Looks normal. There should be strip of brush attached to the roof that partly bridges the gap.

Yeah I wasn’t sure as the gaps on my car seem to be more noticeable than others.

I noticed that when I first took delivery of my cabriolet.
Admittedly I have a good quality replacement top (4 years old) with the strip of brush.

There still is a gap about < 1cm.

Mine's not exactly airtight, but your gap does look a bit bigger.
