Ok, so today's question is regarding the collant level sensor!!!
1990 325i touring
I see the sensor on the front of the expansion tank, but its not plugged in!!!
Only plug I can see floating around I've tried to picture below, but appears to come round from the front of the car and doesn't reach!!! (Has purple/brown/yellow wires)
Where should it come from and what should it look like (wire colours) please???
It's the only light left on my check panel now!!!
Coolant level sensor???

The coolant level sensor light is for the cooalnt sensor in the coolant bottle!. That connector would have been for washwipe headlights in the past i'm sure? Also you are missing a brack that clips that connector in posttion to the headlight frame! You can buy them still, as I recently replaced a missing one! Is the other side the same!

You may find the sensor is not working anyway and needs to be replaced. It works by a magnet in the lower arm which floats up to activate a switch in the top arm when the coolant level is sufficient, but the magnet tends to get rusty and rust is not magnetic, so it stops working.

It's the wire for the sensor in the coolant bottle that I'm looking for!!!
I think it had a new sensor a few years ago - but don't know where the plug has gone to connect it up!!!
Where would that connection be coming from? How is it routed???
Forgot about the wash/wipe on the lights, that would make sense for the connector I found - they were removed years ago after a little nudge broke a few bits!!!

The cable joins the main loom that runs along the lip of the wing - just before the ABS unit cables break out from the same loom.
I found the plug housing part number: 61 13 1 378 408 if yours is missing or damaged - two skinny cables: one Brown the other brown/ red
