I thought I'd ask what the problem may be?
So I was driving up a steep hill, got to the top, braked and heard a horrific grinding noise from the front wheels felt like they locked up and so pulled over, luckily into a mountain cafe car park!!

So no leaks from the brake reservoir
Brake pedal fine, although on pressing it down I can hear air expelling from under the passenger side footwell.
It doesn't seem to make any noise when I reverse and brakes fine....WTF!?

Could There be an issue with the brake master cylinder?

Do you mean a slider bolt or one of the carriers?

Blimey sounds like it could have been really nasty, no damage to disc or wheels?

The carrier
I've just ordered from Cotswold, slider and carriage bolts for both front calipers!!
No damage luckily, as braked at the brow of the hill.
