Good morning,
I'm sure I was aware of the answer to my own question back in the 90's when I knew these things. However I'm looking for some assistance this morning,
What was/is the difference between the standard 325i suspension set up and the sport set up?. Was it just the springs?
Thanks in advance

Yeah that's what I thought I remembered and with just a slight lowering. Cheers

That is very interesting, I have a 325i Sport and after fitting the BMW sump guard it grounded on every speed bump in France, which is now covered with them. I have put on higher profile tyres to get more ground clearance, but it sounds as though changing to standard spec springs might be worthwhile. Although of course after 32 years it may not have Sport springs on it anyway.

Does anyone know whether there were any geometry adjustments to account for the 15mm lower set up, or does the sport have slightly more negative camber?
I fitted H&R OE Sport* springs a while back and the negative camber is a bit excessive. At some point I'll look for options on eccentric bushes on the trailing arms.
*I believe these lower by 1", but I was never quite sure whether that was 1" from a Sport or standard set up?
Thanks for any clarification,
Jack

The set up depends on the year of manufacture, the car type and with or without Mtech sports suspension, there's differences in rear toe and camber as well as the front set up.
Run a VIN check to see what your car left the factory with - this one works, check the options section: http://bimmer.work/
