Thinking of buying these wheels, for my 325i se lowered by 60mm. Any advice gratefully received regarding how to tell they are genuine and general advice/ opinion about fitment etc.
Thank you in advance.

When it comes to 3 piece wheels usually the only part that is genuine is the center waffle plate and hex nut. Lips and barrels if they are changed they are usually not oem but aftermarket, the same goes for bolts. Oem parts have stamped bbs or some ID numbers on every part however on the lips and barrels when we clean the surface and preparing to put them back togheter these marks often get sanded down. These wheels are not offset/ET41 anymore. When you change the lip for bigger one ET gets lower because the center is "pushed" more to the center of the wheel. ET0 means the mounting side of the wheel that meets the wheel hub is in the middle of the wheel. Same is for changing barrels but then offset gets higher. If you use adapters/spacers ET goes down aswell. ET41 is when the wheels are oem: original barrel original center and original lip of RS213.

Puts a whole new perspective on it, that I hadn’t considered. Chances are then that these wheels are not actually worth as much as listed. I kind of hoped they would still have value, if my car became no longer financially viable I could sell them on. I need to do more research, particularly on the subject of the ET. I’ll admit I don’t understand that and it’s implications. Will do a google search. Thank you very much.Kocka wrote: ↑Fri Jul 12, 2019 8:49 amWhen it comes to 3 piece wheels usually the only part that is genuine is the center waffle plate and hex nut.
