I know m40s are renowned for being impossible to get better performance other than a service.
But... I was daydreaming earlier and had a bizarre idea of putting 325 pistons up it to increase compression as I believe 318 pistons are concave whereas 325 pistons are flatter?
Did a bit of research and I reckon that it may be possible to make them fit.
This isn’t a serious plan- more of a “is it possible” type situation!
