What is causing my drivers side mat between divers seat and oblong part of the mat. The damp patch is about 4 inches wide?yes it's water but from where,I'm 99% sure it's not the heater matrix.

Have you looked under the mat? It could be a hole in the floor if you have been driving in wet conditions.
