Flywheel Refacing Question

How many times can a M20 flywheel be refaced? I have one which looks like it has been refaced already because it doesn't have the small step where the cover plate bolts to it. Just wondering if it will be ok to reface it again or will it get too thin for the clutch to operate properly?
