Hi , how you doing ??
I have to fix my knee roll in with my custom "choke " in the place of the headlamp adjuster but would like to know the fixing points for this because I have not got it right in the past please ??

Any pics would help no end as this is the only bit that is stopping it going in for the MOT next week and I really need her on the road as my e46 sport has been written off.

Cheers guy`s.

hi mart,

i take it you mean the panel under the steering column? if so there is a "mount" as such above the throttle pedal that looks like a large clip,

trying to get that panel in place is a mare of a job (lots of swearing involved for me), so i keep mine in place with a large zip tie around the middle of it & round the steering column.

also, the e46 has been written off??
if it's got t*ts or wheels it's bound to be trouble...............prove me wrong.

no worries, not good at all, if they do write it off fingers crossed they pay out quick & easy,
took me over 3 months to get a pay out when my rover 75 was written off 8 yr's ago.

Two weeks ago now and not looking good so thats pushed me into waking up the Baur so I can give my wife her car back.lol

I have just had a look at the knee roll and it seems there is also a clip which looks like it slides onto the roll and then clips onto the column , plus the clip near the gas pedal.

it`s too bloody cold and also crying out for a very slim youth so 3rd born will have to step in. A quick reminder about who lends who gas money should do the trick.

This is for a left hand drive of course - but basically the same.

Your're right Mart, there are two clips - right side metal one ( part of the body work ) and then the plastic one that attaches to the steering column. Then the three plastic locking clips for the front lip as well as a single self tapper that screws into the plastic retainer in the centre/upper part of the steering column - 3X item 12 - 1X 13 and then 31-34 for the attach to the column at the top.
