i had to change my instrument cluster because some of the brains inside it gave up.

i took it from an f-reg 316i and put it in my h-reg iS. i swapped the mileage clocks over so mine is still at right miles and that works fine.

but for some reason, when my petrol tank is empty/reserve, the guage shows 1/2 a tank. my other clocks worked fine, so why shold this be different?

i've swapped the coding plugs over, but this hasnt seem to of done anything. any advice anyone?

Might be the grounding nut on the back of cluster. The temp and petrol guage both have grounding nuts which often come loose and then give inaccurate readings
