Front shock absorbers

Hi Guys, i've bought some new Meyle shocks to replace the old leaking Boge items. When offered up i've found they're not a snug fit inside the strut like the old units and when measured they are just over 2mm less in diameter. I made sure to get the shocks for 51mm struts and not the smaller 45mm units. Will this matter and affect the handling? Thanks James.

Strange, but it won't make any difference when fitted.
