hi there, i have had this problem for a little while now... and its got to the point where it is doing my head in!
when i first start her up, the choke cuts in which is fine and dandy! but the problem is when she gets warm. i could be doing any speed and when i come to a stand still the engine revs dip to 500rpm and then back up to normal...it keeps doing this ...down... up... until i rev her and she will sit back at normal idle, but on the way back from work this morning i tried the usual rev to get her settled and it still kept dipping!!!!!
does anyone know what the problem is???
any input would be greatly appreciated!

air leak, Idle control Valve, gremlins...
I have a nearly new Idle control valve for a 320i here. It's an original new Bosch one, let me know if you need it. In the mean time, pull off your existing ICV and wash it out with some carb cleaner until it moves freely without sticking, hopefully this will help.
Could also be soooo much else
