Afternoon all,
Just in the process of removing a factory alarm/immobiliser from a 1988 316i coupe.
Following a few instructions from previous posts on this subject, I have most of it removed (without damaging anything) but wondered what the blue relay next to the accessory socket/loom is for? Not sure if its for the alarm or something else?
It is connected to a thick yellow/red wire going to the Accessory socket itself (Antenna circuit I think) which was also powering part of the immobiliser unit, and also a thick green/blue wire. This green/blue wire has a single plug socket on it that can be disconnected and connected back to the existing green/blue wire, removing the relay from the green/blue loop.
Blue relay has this number on it: 61311378786 (which is returned as a fuel relay).
Does anyone know if this relay is for anything else / OEM please?
Cheers,
Billy

Will be the relay that allows your electric-windows/sunroof to operate when a door is open.
If you stick your ear near it and operate the nearby door courtesy-light switch with your finger you should hear it clicking as it switches the window/roof power-supply from the white/black wire to the red/yellow wire.
