My cars mot is coming up in a couple of weeks.
Last couple of months the speedometer has been temperamental-doesn’t move have to give it a couple of taps on the dash which brings the needle back to life, think could it be a wire connection?
And would it get through an mot seen as it’s not driven in a test
Radio stop working aswell if that helps

Check the connections at the back of the cluster especially the earth, the tester may drive it up on the ramp so may notice its not working, not sure if its a fail though.

I won’t be doing it but is it a big job removing the cluster?
Car needs a few bits trying to prioritise we’re the money is going . Cheers

Sounds like a dry/cracked solder joint on the cluster. You'll need to replace or fix it as it will only get worse.
