Hi,

Any experts here help me out identifying if a) the wires pictured below belong to the original loom and b) where they go?

ok first up, I found these connectors, they share the same wiring branch as the rear passenger side window motor connection...

Any ideas? One is considerably longer than the other (the one with 2 wires), leading me to believe it possibly controls something on both sides of the vehicle, or something in the boot?

Ok, next up,

This was found in the boot taped up and connected to nothing, and appears to branch off from the main loom on the entrance to the boot.

The other connections to the rear lights, license plate light etc all seem to be connected and working...

Any ideas?

I will no doubt post in here again in future as I discover more electrical gremlins from past hatchetry.

Thanks!

Which car is it, and which side of the boot?

The bottom pic looks like it could be for an electric aerial, usually a Hirschmann in E30s.

What about the check control panel above the rear view mirror - does it show any lights when you switch the ignition on? It's possible the rear lights check control module was disconnected/removed, as they can be troublesome.

Top picture shows rear check control unit in place with it's cables in the cavity, but don't look properly connected ??

No idea what the others are - but is there evidence of a power amplifier fitted to the inside of the boot, left hand side up top far inside... could be the cables for that.. if it ever had one.

The connector in the top pic under your thumb looks like it connects into a central locking actuator.

@speedtouch - the car is a 92 convertible, and this was taped up in the left hand side of the boot. Good call regarding the aerial... hadn't thought of that! Had the aerial hole flushed so could be that!

@Paul - it must be the photo / funny angle, those connectors should all be connected, I will double check though :) found it just lying in the cavity rattling around so have only just put it up out of the way.

@Contours - another good shout, I'll investigate.
