Evening,

Just reading through the wiki for wiring in an electric fan, which surprisingly for me all seems to make sense...I do have one question though, how do you open up the fuse box in order to add the extra wiring and crimp connectors etc ?

I've removed two screws thar I can see but the top isn't freely lifting away, is it just a case of removing all fuses and relays and it will lift up?

is the need for an electric fan a result of an engine swop??

there is a third screw near the relays , you may need to remove one to get to it

Ok got the top section up, can just about gain access to the three fuses to add female connectors in but how do you get the femal spade connectors into the empty relay slots? The circuit board is in the way??

They push through the board, there is a quite obvious hole where the pin needs to go

Right spotted that now thanks.

So I have the following:

Relay position K1 - slot 85 empty

Relay position K6 - slots 85 & 86 empty

Reading the wiki instructions, I need to ground pin 85 on both which is fine, i can see holes to add spade connectors.

My issue is slot 86 on relay K1... slot 86 already has a spade soldered in? Does this mean I have a cable present already somewhere? Or does it mean I need to solder my new wire to the circuit board underneath (where the solder join is?)

EDIT:

Just found this thread from P DIDDY having the same challenge http://www.e30zone.net/modules.php?name ... +fan+relay

I can only assume the wiring diagram below is wrong or differs across E30 models?
