318is Steering Rack upgrade

Hi, I am on the verge of upgrading my steering rack to the z3 rack. On the wiki it says that some 318is m42 owners have had problems with the linkage interfeering with the manifold but i have done some external research that says it is just a bolt in (with the spacers).

Has anyone actually done this to verify any of the above?

and had P/S lines made up by someone local.

If Danthe can supply the parts off the shelf it will be much easier.

Yeah stumbled upon a video on YT, seems like he went from around 4 turns lock to lock on original, and 2 turns with z3 rack.

Now I also want z3 rack.

What I usually do with the iS is mount the rack in the front holes and use E28 535i engine mount to give better clearance between linkage and manifold
