Morning all,
My cabbie has just failed his MOT on "Brake pipe excessively corroded Nearside (from rear union to front)" - does anyone know where I can purchase new hard brake lines from, or have I got to make some up?
I've had a google and can't find any online (though to be fair I'm not the best googler).
Any guidance gratefully received.

you can either buy them from the dealers pre bent, or but a roll of kunifer & the brass unions along with a flaring tool & pipe bender & make your own.
all come down to budget mainly.

if it's got t*ts or wheels it's bound to be trouble...............prove me wrong.

Hi, thank you for the reply.
Can you give more information on the brake line size and the flaring tool - is it double flare? Also, what size are the unions? If I go that route I'd rather get the correct kit first time.
Thanks again

hi, the nut/union size is IIRC M10 male & female, last time i did mine (a few years ago so it's a bit hazy) i used double flare one end & single the other.BackinBlack wrote:Hi, thank you for the reply.

the kit can be bought pretty cheaply this is the one i got

cheap yes but it does the job also you'll need a pipe bender
this one does for me.

but as mart says have a word on the cotswold parts section, see if they do pre-bent or not.

Spend a few pounds more, and buy this one or similar: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Brake-Pipe-F ... Swll1Wwa6O Far easier to use and gives a much better flare every time.
Pipe bender is a luxury, but not needed - I've never had a kunifer brake pipe kink yet.. Bend around a large socket for tight bends.
Male unions have to be M10 Short to work with the U shaped spring clips that hold the ends of flexible hoses in place, although there are none of these associated with the pipe in question

Brilliant, thank you all for the feedback - I have taken the plunge and ordered some kunifer pipe etc. I'll let you know how it goes, its been a while since I last made my own brake lines (like 30 years).
Out of interest, I phoned my local BMW parts department, and the price for the pipe was £26 (next day delivery to dealer), comes with the unions and flares already to go, but is not pre-bent to shape.
Thanks again all for the advice.
