Been getting worse and this morning when cold I couldn't engage any gears. Had to let the car idle for about 10 mins, why would that help?
I had a new clutch fitted when I first got the car (couple of months ago) and got them to do the Z3 short shift conversion. I have also changed both cylinders and bleed 3 times now. Took slave off today and put little pinky in push rod hole, and found there was no resistance at all on the release lever. Don't know if this is right or not.
You can manage to bang it in to first with a nice crunch and then it will engage all gears ok until ypu release the clutch and try again.
Any ideas?
No gears!

My gearbox too is really stiff on first starting up on a cold day. I can't get second at all, only third. After a couple of minutes it frees off and it's fine. I changed the gearbox oil a few months ago, using good quality SAE 80 gear oil. I think that might have something to do with it, as I'm sure it's been recommended on here to use the genuine BM stuff.
Don't know why it frees off after a few minutes though. I presume it just gets a couple of degrees warmer and then it works like an oil should. maybe the BM oil has better low temp performance

That could be it, I'm sure the garage would have used cheap oil sfter fitting the new clutch. Was your's ok before the change then?
Thanks for the input dude.
