Does anybody have any experience or advice on how I can get rid of this system, the circuit board has a loose connection and so it won't start on occassion, I can't find a replacement so I'm hoping to find someone to strip it out?

The OEM immobiliser is connected to the ignition feed to the engine only, and connects via a white two pin socket with two plain green wires going to it, and can be found behind the glovebox inspection panel.
The immobiliser plug fitted into this socket will have a green/red and a plain green wire. This should be unplugged, and replaced by a similar plug, fitted with a loop of green wire, which will be found tied to the loom nearby IF the immobiliser really is OE.
If no plug is present, then cut the green and green/red wires a couple of inches from the plug, join them together to form a loop, and refit the plug into the socket.
All other wires associated with connecting the alarm/immobiliser to the car can simply be unplugged, and the redundant wiring removed.

Are you handy with a soldering iron as maybe a repair would be enough?

i ended up getting an auto electrician out (some years ago), i had the factory fit cabby immobilizer, plus a second cat 1 that the last owner had fitted- i had them both removed.
