Hey again zone. Just got the 325i on the road after its been left from 2001 as I can see. It has a few teething problems that I hope you could help with.
The car loses power coming off of a roundabout for a split second.
It has a occasional whine on the n/s rear very loud
Very heavy clutch and accelerator.
Very long overrun
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If it only happens on roundabouts, check out the big convoluted air hose for splits, which are being opened up as the engine moves under lateral g forces. If it's just a generally poor pick up from zero throttle, check the TPS for correct adjustment - not just that it switches, but that it switches immediately on throttle, and it can also be due to a weak mixture, caused by one or more air leaks and/or under performing injectors.

Possible wheel bearing? Usually a rumble, but they can whine as well.

Very heavy clutch
Sure? These cars were designed for 'real' men, back in the day, and the clutch pedal, especially the 325i one, is very heavy by modern standards.

and accelerator.
Very long overrun
Putting these two together, it couldn't be something as basic and simple as a sticky throttle cable, could it, making it hard to pull, and slow to spring back?

While you are addressing the issue Brian, is there anything one can do to ease the clutch effort. I never had to do the clutch itself but have changed both cylinders not so long ago. It is like pushing your foot into a bucket of concrete and probably will need a hip replacement in time. Must be torture in a city.

One solution for the 325i is to replace it with a 320i clutch, which uses a weaker spring in the cover plate, but is still plenty strong enough in practice.

Thanks for the help will look into all of that. The clutch is no real problem, it is heavy but I just wasn't sure if that was abnormal, so I'm happy to know that it is.
