Siren issues

Hi there i have a e30 convertible 320i lhd , had it a wile dont drive it much , i jumped in it the other day and i left it open and when i opened the door the horn went off just once and the red led on the alarm went off and the same happened when i went to start the car any ideas ,i have tryed putting my alarm key in the door but it doesnt work for some reason but i have found the alarm module and remove the multi plug and the alarm goes off so not sure if faulty module or low battery or what ?thanx ryan
