Probably correct. What's the numbers on your existing reg?
The only M10 engine I have here ('87 reg.) has a Bosch alternator with a completely different style of regulator, but M40 alternators have 1197311005 or it's replacement 021. I think 028 is the Bosch current replacement, and this is listed as a replacement for the 005, the 021 and the 023, which the one in your link claims to be an equivalent of.
This would be the only part I'd ever change on an alternator to refurb. it. If it had noisy bearings or dud diodes, I'd bin it, except pulley, and refurb. another one.

Google the numbers on the existing reg. If it's the usual type of Bosch alternator, and has the original regultor, the numbers will be 1197311xxx.
