Hello,

Just got my new Wilwood 4-pot BBK and I'm planning to run a larger master cylinder (750i). Do I need a E32 or E38 one? Or are they the same? Is it a direct fit? (Clio brake booster)

Thanks! Struggle with finding one or fitting? Straight fit , right? You're from Great Britain, right?

Can such a master cylinder also cause an 'overkill' ? Or are you always good with a bbk and 25,4mm cylinder?

Will it also cause more force at the rear brakes? With other words, will i need a brake bias valve to prevent lock up at the rear with this cylinder? Thx

It will create less force - larger bore= less hydraulic advantage, but harder pedal - if you work out the pressure at the caliper with a 22mm bore you get something around 1700psi but with a 25.4 you get 1200 psi - this for a pedal force of 200 lbs which apparently a bloke in a correctly positioned seat can apply.

So its all related to feel and pedal travel as well as ability to modulate - and how strong you are!

I think this is pretty useful:

What wilwood kit is it? You need to know how much larger diameter the pistons are compared to standard to work out the best sized master cylinder, if you are keeping standard rears then yes you will need bias valve as they will be working before/more than the fronts
