Does anyone here know about water leaking through soft tops I have an 87 325i been off the road for about 16 years left it outside to see if the roof leaks (it does. Alot). The front velvet seal is drenched. Ive got droplets off of both catches. And it's sealing through the roof lining but I assume a hydrophobic coat will fix that. Please help! Cheers

BMW do a waterproof wash impregnater for convertible hoods and also Gummiphledge rubber care for the rubber seals that all helps keep it out, once you have done that you can test it to see if any leaks are actually down to faulty seals or poor adjustment.

I've used Grangers Fabsil for years, UV and water repellent, 5 liters for about 20 quid, brush on.

As fixedwheelnut stated, gummiphlege is a rubber conditioner, the rubber has shrunk after 16 years it may be an issue but feed the rubber feed the rubber feed the rubber you get the drift and some vaseline on the edges may help. Best of luck.

By the way is it leaking above the passenger and drivers doors?

Get it started up and warmed up inside and it will leak a lot less, mine leaked like a sieve as it had been left idle for 6 months.
